In 2015, I started my own 'dot com' company, creating a specialised payroll service for rideshare drivers, and I'm proud to say I built it up to over 450 drivers on my books from across the country. All small sole trader, ABN-only holders that wanted to work as many hours a week as possible, but had little or no understanding of managing accounts, no time to do and little money to engage an accountant to do it for them.
One of my strengths as a bookkeeper is that I prioritise keeping you in control of your finances. You have complete ownership and control over your records and your money at all times. I provide suggestions and create payment requests without requiring any direct control of your finances. I do the work, you hold the purse strings!
I believe that clear communication, collaboration, honesty and transparency are key to achieving financial and business success. I work closely with my clients to establish a set-up and arrangement that works for them and I’m straight forward and direct in telling them, ‘advising’ them what they should and shouldn’t be doing. And I follow-up to make sure that actions have been done by them, when required. Eg, finalising bank transactions and counter-signing lodgements to meet ATO and other deadlines to avoid penalties.
